* As I continue to do research and try to improve my unit plan I have come to this realization: this is not a unit that can be introduced, taught, assessed, completed and forgotten. It will continue to be a work inprogress. I have become additcted to CNN coverage of the oil spill. As I watch I come up with more questions that need to be explored like: what will happen to the migratory bird population of Wisconsin? What will be the implications for Wisconsin in future? This is a unit that I will infuse into my teaching of both Life and Earth Science throughout the year. I don't know how I will add all this into my Unit Plan by the end of Friday. Like I said, it will need to be a work in progress that will be added to and changed throughout the year. I am excited to begin this journey with my students.

(I still need to decide the sequence of events when it comes to
Teaching this unit. I have the experiments and activities but need to do more planning as to how much time and in what order and exactly what skills I am going to focus on based on my questions and objectives. This is still a work in progress.)

Participant's unit plans reviewed: I reviewed Jan Atkinson, Theresa Shankland, Aaron Totzke and Dan Krolow.
